LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies say a registered sex offender with an ankle device went to a park twice last month in Kinston.

Lenoir County deputies say they charged Randall Sheppard with felony sex offender on child premises.

Deputies say Sheppard visited Neuseway Nature Center Park on April 18 and 25th.

The park includes a children’s museum and playground, both off limits for registered sex offenders.

The man has been on the registry since 2024 after being convicted of attempted statutory sexual offense with a child.

The 30-year-old Sheppard was jailed without bond on the charge.
