UPDATE: Victims identified in Pitt County triple murder
PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies have identified the victims in a triple murder that happened Friday in Pitt County.
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says that Anthony Gribble, 80, and his wife Paula Gribble, 76, of Peace Ridge Court were shot and killed. The third shooting victim was identified as Enrique Reyes, 64, of Forest Acres Drive.
Friday, detectives with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation involving 4 different crime scenes. Two of those crime scenes were where the victims’ homes are on Peace Ridge Court and Forest Acres Drive.
During the investigation, the three victims were found dead from gunshot wounds.
55-year-old David Lever, of Greenville, was arrested and taken into custody at one of the scenes. He is charged with 3 open counts of murder and is in the Pitt County Detention Center under no bond.
Lever, who neighbors say lives on Forest Acres Drive just like Reyes, is a real estate broker.
Additional charges are pending.
According to officials, as a result of interviews and evidence collected at each scene, the preliminary investigation shows the crime scenes are related, however, officials say this is an active investigation.
