Kinston caretaker charged after assaulting disabled man, warrants say

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Kinston woman is behind bars after assaulting a disabled man in her care, according to warrants.

24-year-old Kemarah Grant-Pettiway was arrested Friday after warrants say she knowingly and maliciously assaulted a disabled adult.

Warrants say Pettiway punched the man in the face and the man suffered from physical injury.

According to officials, Pettiway was the caretaker of the man who was residing in a domestic setting.

Pettiway was arrested by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office and is being held under a $40,000 secured bond, according to court documents.
