ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WITN) A county fair that was canceled last year because of Hurricane Florence is about to make a comeback.
Onslow County's annual agricultural fair begins Tuesday.
Set up was underway Monday with 30 rides, four of which are new this year.
Event organizers say the fair has picked up a little bit each year over the past decade, and leaders have said Onslow County's population is growing.
While the fair offers rides and entertainment, the agricultural attraction, such as crops and livestock, are intended to educate the public on Onslow County's farming community.
Gerald Griffin, Fair Manager says, "Farmer way of life is a dying thing. Everything now is corporate farms, but there's still a few small farms around and it gives the small farmers a way to exhibit their produce."
The fair supports Onslow County farmers by allowing only farmers from inside the county to showcase their products.
The fair runs from Tuesday through Saturday and you can find complete details by clicking on the related link.
