MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) - A former Morehead City manager is returning as interim manager as the city searches for a full-time replacement.
After a four-hour closed-session meeting today, the council unanimously appointed Randy Martin as interim manager.
Officials have not released his start date or pay, citing pending contract negotiations.
Martin has 40 years of government leadership experience and previously served as Morehead City manager from 1995 to 2012.
Former City Manager Chris Turner resigned Jan. 29 following a closed-door special council meeting on personnel matters.
Assistant City Manager Daniel Williams has served as acting city manager since then.
