Police investigate shooting incident in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) - On Saturday, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Elizabeth City Police Department officers responded to the 300 Block of East Cypress Street, where a person was calling out for help, according to officials.

Elizabeth City officials say the officers located a man who had been shot in the hip. The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General and is in stable condition, according to officials.
