Duo arrested after Craven County deputies seize drugs during traffic stop

CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Two people were arrested after Craven County deputies say they found drugs during a traffic stop.

Yesterday, deputies say they pulled over a car on Broad Street near Fleet Street for a traffic violation.

Deputies say the stop led them to search the car, where they found nearly 2 ounces of fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana and cash.

37-year-old Angelo Manning and 37-year-old Jessica Charles were arrested following the stop.

Both are facing the following charges:

• Three felony counts of trafficking fentanyl
• Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, & deliver cocaine
• Possession of cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance
• Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, & deliver a Schedule VI-controlled substance
• Maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substances

Manning and Charles are in the Craven County Detention Center with bond.
