Seven arrested on drug charges in Beaufort County

BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - During October, Beaufort County deputies arrested seven people on drug charges.

The sheriff’s office said they seized just over four ounces of fentanyl, one ounce of methamphetamine, and less than one ounce of cocaine.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Centers for Disease Control say 2 milligrams of fentanyl is considered deadly. Deputies say their seizures could have prevented 60,000 fatal overdoses.

Brandon Bell, 39, of Goldsboro, was charged with three counts of trafficking in fentanyl by possession and maintaining a vehicle to keep and sell controlled substances. He was taken to jail under a $400,000 secured bond.

Givon Hodges, 40, of Washington, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. He was taken to jail under a $30,000 secured bond.

Richard Barnes, 57, of Aurora, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to jail without bond.

Dekevion Roulhac, 23, of Washington, was charged with trafficking in fentanyl by possession. He was taken to jail under a $60,000 secured bond.

Donald Keech Jr., 32, of Belhaven, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. He was taken to jail without bond.

William Branch, 28, of Blounts Creek, was charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to jail without bond.

Ebony Lawrence, 32, of Washington, was charged with trafficking in fentanyl by possession. She was taken to jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
