GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - East Carolina University will be testing its emergency notification system across campus today.

ECU will conduct a full test between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today on the school’s communication systems, including a voice message broadcast on indoor and outdoor loudspeakers and office telephones.

The test notification will also appear on digital signs and on campus computers.

The test alert will be sent to employees, students and parents registered for ECU Alert notifications via email and text message.

Registration for cell phone messaging can be done through the ECU Family & Community Registration tab found here.

ECU officials also encourage the ECU community to download the LiveSafe app, which allows users to anonymously report suspicious activity and safety concerns to police.
