JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - We now know the cause of death of a man killed earlier this month at a Jacksonville city park.

A death certificate says 63-year-old Stanley Adair died from a blunt force injury to the head.

Adair’s body was found around 9:20 a.m. on April 4th under the picnic pavilion at Phillips Park on Marine Boulevard.

Police had said Adair was the victim of a homicide but did not reveal how he died.

His death certificate said Adair was a plumber and lived on Hunting Green Drive.

Onslow Community Outreach says Adair was a regular visitor at their soup kitchen.

Police say if you know anything about the man’s death, you should call the Jacksonville Police Department or Crimestoppers at 910.938.3273.
