Man charged with murder in Rocky Mount shooting

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) - A man has been charged with murder for the shooting that killed a man in Rocky Mount last Wednesday.

The Rocky Mount Police Department says they have charged 23-year-old Shakur Battle for the murder of Donnell Williams.

Officers say the shooting took place around 12:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Layola Avenue.

When police arrived they found a man dead.

Police say Battle has been charged with first-degree murder and taken to Nash County jail with no bond.
