Carteret County issues burn ban

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Carteret County has issued a burn ban on open burning.

The county says the ban is applied to the entire county starting tomorrow at 8 a.m.

This ban affects all open burning activities, including within 100 feet of any dwelling and regardless of any permits previously issued.

The decision follows a statewide open burning ban from the North Carolina Forest Service.
