Victim identified in Beaufort Inlet boating death

The victim in Monday's deadly boat accident in Carteret County has been identified.
Wildlife Resources Officer Tyler Ingle says 77-year-old Thomas Bogey, of Knightdale, drowned when he and another man were thrown into the Beaufort Inlet after their boat capsized.
The other man has been identified as 66-year-old Larry Sanders, of Spring Hope. He was pulled to safety by a good Samaritan.
Ingle says the two were on a recreational fishing boat when it flipped over. He said no other boats were involved and there are no pending charges in the case.
State Wildlife Resources officers are investigating a boating accident that killed one person this morning.
Authorities say it happened in the Beaufort Inlet around 10:00 a.m.
Wildlife Resources Officer Tyler Ingle says the recreational fishing boat with two people on board capsized in the inlet. One person drowned, while the other person was rescued.
A good Samaritan who has prior EMS training was able to rescue the other person, according to Ingle. Also responding to the accident were the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as wildlife officers and Sea Tow.
The names of those involved haven't been released yet.
