‘Looking forward to my day in court’: Boutique owner arrested 17 times since Jan. 1
PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina/Gray News) - A South Carolina boutique owner has been repeatedly arrested across the state this year.
Pamela “Brooke” Schronce has now been arrested 17 times since Jan. 1.
Jail records show Schronce was recently booked into the Pickens County Detention Center. The listed charge is obtaining money or property under false tokens or letters, less than $2,000.
Schronce was granted bond of $1,087.50.

The repeated arrests follow months of complaints from customers who told law enforcement they paid for items from Thomas and Turner Children’s Boutique but never received the merchandise or a refund.
Authorities previously said Schronce has been transferred between detention centers following earlier arrests as the cases continued to move through the system.

The case has also drawn attention from prosecutors. The 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office previously asked the South Carolina attorney general to take over prosecution in one case, citing a conflict of interest.
Schronce’s attorney previously said she is “looking forward to her day in court” and that the defense was still seeking discovery from state agencies.
As of Friday, additional details, including the arrest date, were not immediately available from the jail listing.
