RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - A Craven County man has stepped forward to accept their prize drawn Monday.
The North Carolina Education Lottery says Dietrich Kilpatrick, of Dover, has taken home his $2 million win. This comes after a call for the winner to come accept their prize from the Monday drawing.
Kilpatrick said he had been trying his hand at the Powerball lottery for almost ten years.
“I was like, ‘Wow, I’ve got them all,’” Kilpatrick said, referring to the game’s five white ball numbers.
After required taxes he took home $1,440,201 and plans to use his winnings to fund home repairs and to donate to his church.
