HERTFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Around 3 a.m. Saturday, North Carolina Emergency Management requested Greenville Fire/Rescue’s Urban Search and Rescue team to respond to an explosion and collapse of an 8-story grain tower in Hertford County, with reports of people trapped and missing, officials say.

According to Greenville Fire/Rescue officials, NC Task Force 10 was immediately deployed, including members of Greenville Fire/Rescue and New Bern Fire/Rescue.
