PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Documents from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office are revealing more details about a home invasion outside of Greenville.

An investigation report says a victim in the Louis Street home invasion was severely beaten and tied up.

The sheriff’s office is investigating a burglary, kidnapping and first-degree sexual offense at the home, according to the report.

Yesterday, Pitt County deputies were on the scene of the home invasion, which is in the Cherry Oaks neighborhood off of Fire Tower Road.

Deputies say they were called to the home around 3:15 yesterday morning.

A person at the home was taken to ECU Health Medical Center after being assaulted, deputies say.

The home was wrapped in crime scene tape yesterday.

Deputies entering the home were seen wearing protective shoe coverings, which are used to keep from contaminating crime scenes.

The report says the Major Crimes Unit has been notified.

Neighbors told WITN this home is an Airbnb.

A suspect has not been arrested at this time, according to officials.
