Child wanted on attempted murder charge in Kinston shooting, police looking for suspect

Police say they are looking for a child suspect who’s wanted on an attempted murder charge after a man was found with several gunshot wounds in Kinston.

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - Police say they are looking for a child suspect who’s wanted on an attempted murder charge after a man was found with several gunshot wounds in Kinston.

On Saturday, Kinston police say officers were called around 10:15 p.m. for a shooting on Richard Green Court.

There, officers found a 25-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to ECU Health Medical Center.

Police say security camera footage helped investigators find evidence discarded by the suspect, who was identified as a child.

The suspect is wanted on attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflict serious injury charges.

Police are actively looking for the suspect.
