Long-awaited Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Greenville opens
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The highly anticipated Hilton Garden Inn hotel in downtown Greenville is welcoming guests today.
The day has finally come for the Hilton Garden Inn to officially open for business.
“We’re looking forward to hosting guests and accommodating guests that are coming into the building,” General Manager Brett Morgan said.
Located downtown on the 400 block of Evans Street, the 101-room hotel is ready to meet the needs of those who come and stay with amenities. Those include a fitness center, guest laundry, a market, 1,200 square feet of meeting space, and a show-stopping rooftop restaurant and bar.
‘1717 the Rooftop’ has an array of offerings for breakfast and dinner along with a view many people, like Dick Wolfe, can’t wait to experience.
“Just seeing what the views like from up high,” Wolfe said.
A groundbreaking was held for the hotel back in 2022, and the hotel was initially set to open in the Summer of 2023, but Morgan says the hotel came face-to-face with some difficulties.
“We had some hurdle points we had to get through with you know getting some furniture in the building,” Morgan said. “Of course, weather didn’t help in some situations.”
The Hilton Garden Inn is now eager for people to fill its queen and king-size beds after a longer-than-expected road to completion.
“Glad to see it’s finally finished and ready for people to come,” Wolfe said.
The hotel has leased out spots in the Fourth Street parking garage steps away from the building which will cost guests $10 a night.
