Man charged in Goldsboro fatal shooting

GOLDSBORO, NC (WITN)- A man is behind bars following a fatal shooting.

Manyele Lofton was arrested and charged with murder and attemped murder following a shooting on Bright Street Sunday morning in Goldsboro.

Officers found 37-year-old Rodney Randall outside the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he is in critical condition.

Inside the home, officers found 35-year-old Eric Brooks shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lofton's first court appearance will be Tuesday morning.

One person is dead and another had to be airlifted to a hospital following a shooting in the East Sunday.

Goldsboro police responded to reports of shots fired at 104 Bright Street around 6 a.m. When officers arrived they found 37 year-old Rodney Randall outside the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Inside the home, officials found 35 year-old Eric Brooks had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Randall was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. His condition is unknown at this time.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
