PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Pitt County man is facing several charges after warrants say he threatened his ex-girlfriend at her home with an ax.
48-year-old Steven Haddock was arrested by Pitt County deputies overnight.
On October 10th, warrants say Haddock reportedly stood at a window outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home, saying, “All I want to do is cut your go---mn head off,” while making stabbing motions with an ax.
He is also accused of calling the victim over 20 times in a couple of hours and sending her threatening text messages, writing, “I’m striking tonight. I don’t know what time, but it’s coming,” and “I’m coming heavily armed.”
The records say Haddock damaged some of the woman’s property, including her lawn and birdbath.
Haddock was charged with the following:
- Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
- Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
- Injury to real property
- Injury to personal property
- Harassing phone call
- Misdemeanor stalking
- Communicating threats
Court documents show Haddock has pending charges for assault with a deadly weapon and injury to personal property after he was arrested in June.
He was taken to the Pitt County Jail without bond.
Haddock has a court appearance scheduled for today.
