Man charged in 2014 Greenville murder makes court appearance

One of two men charged with a 2014 homicide is under a $2 million dollar bond after appearing before a judge Thursday morning.
Greenville police say 24-year-old Keonte Brown and 32-year-old Javez Simpson are charged with murder for the shooting death of 30-year-old Travis Foreman.
On November 24, 2014, Foreman was killed as a result of what detectives believe to be a gang-related dispute. He was shot multiple times in his apartment on Ridge Place.
Brown was arrested in Greenville. Simpson was already in custody in Columbus County for unrelated charges and will be transported to Pitt County for his first appearance.
Brown was given a court-appointed attorney and a judge set October 17th as his next court date.
In total, five people have now been charged in connection with the case. 23-year-old Antero Rodrigues, 22-year-old Jerrell Powell, and 23-year-old Kenquonis Mckenzie were arrested and charged with Foreman’s murder in January 2017
