Investigators say the suspect’s adult son told them he traveled from out of state to check on his father, who, he said, had been showing signs of dementia.

The son found Jane Biggs dead in the main bedroom at the couple’s Goodyear home, police say. She had signs that she had been attacked.

John Biggs was booked into jail after being medically cleared.
