New 76-bed nursing home proposed for Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Liberty Healthcare Properties of Pitt County LLC and Liberty Commons of Pitt County LLC have applied for approval to build a new 76-bed nursing home in Greenville.

The new facility, named Liberty Commons of Pitt County, will be built on the empty field at 2340 East Fire Tower Road.

A news release says beds will be transferred from three other centers: 40 from Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, 32 from Yadkin Nursing Care Center, and 4 from Mary Gran Nursing Center.

The project is expected to cost $25.4 million and finish by January 2030.

A public hearing will take place at 10 a.m. on June 18 at the Eugene James Auditorium in the Pitt County Administrative Office Building in Greenville.
