North Carolina flu deaths reach 311

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - Flu-related deaths in North Carolina reached 311 on Wednesday.
State health officials say there was one new death last week, with three more added from previous weeks.
Deaths across the state peaked just after the holidays and have been declining since then.
So far this season, 244 deaths were people 65 or older, 43 between 50 and 64, 15 between 25 and 49, eight between 5 and 17, and one under 5.
Last season, 544 people died from the flu, the highest number since 2009.
