WARRANTS: Impaired driving a factor in fatal Martin County crash, driver charged
MARTIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Warrants say a man is facing charges following a crash in Martin County last month that killed one person and injured two others.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has charged 37-year-old Oge Bernadouche in the fatal crash on Highway 903 near David Brown Road on January 24th.
Troopers say the Tarboro man ran off the road and into a ditch. His car overturned multiple times before landing back on the highway.
Killed was 29-year-old James Jean, of Windsor, while Bernadouche and two others in the car were taken to ECU Health Medical Center with injuries.
Warrants say that Bernadouche was impaired while driving.
He was charged with felony death by vehicle, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, no operator’s license and reckless driving, wanton disregard.
Bernadouche is in the Martin County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday.
