ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A county in Eastern Carolina will receive a grant aimed at strengthening infrastructure for both its military and community.

Onslow County received a $1,629,621 grant and contracted with the engineering firm Tetra Tech for $1.3 million to help fund the infrastructure resiliency study.

The study will focus on systems that serve the county, including water, wastewater, energy, and transportation.

Officials say the goal is to identify services that’d benefit from improvement or protection.

County, city, and Camp Lejeune representatives will guide the effort.

The study is expected to finish in January 2027.
