Tropical system in the Gulf remains very disorganized
This system shows low development
We continue to monitor the Gulf for potential tropical development. Development is not expected for now. The National Hurricane Center continues to maintain a slim, 10% chance of development. The disturbance will move westward towards Texas over the next few days.
Scattered showers and storms will continue along the Gulf coast as the system heads westward. By this weekend, the system is expected to move over land, ending the chances for development. Regardless of development, heavy rain is expected at times along portions of the Gulf coast through today.
