Police make arrest in New Bern shooting

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - Police say they arrested a 20-year-old man this morning for a shooting that happened last week.

Sai’llen Hatter is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The shooting happened last Thursday on Third Avenue. Police say Sa’nnarious Morris was shot in the back and was taken to ECU Health Medical Center for treatment.

Hatter is being held without bond and had a first court appearance on Monday.
