Police investigating two dead in Jacksonville apartment

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Police in one Eastern Carolina city are investigating the deaths of two people at an apartment complex on Sunday.

Jacksonville police say they were called to Charleston Place Apartments around 2:30 p.m. Sunday for a welfare check.

They found two adults who lived in the apartment dead.

Police say the deaths are being investigated jointly with NCIS.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their families, according to a news release.
