Rocky Mount man charged with murder

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) — The Rocky Mount Police Department says a man is behind bars charged with shooting and killing a man.

Wednesday morning, around 2:15 a.m. police at the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to a shooting with injury in the 1100-block of Cypress Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they found 35-year-old Jeffrey Fenner suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say Fenner was pronounced dead at the scene by Edgecombe County EMS.

Police have charged Adrian Hagans, 29, of Rocky Mount, with first-degree murder.

Hagans is in Edgecombe County Jail without bond.
