As the big Mother’s Day weekend is underway, we will see a mix of sun and clouds, with highs in the 70s. We will see a few passing showers throughout the day, but not a washout. Lows fall in the 50s and lower 60s, with fog in areas to start Sunday morning. This will all be thanks to the increased humidity. Once the fog burns off, we are partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day. Highs soar to the 70s and lower 80s. A stray afternoon/evening shower cannot be ruled out.

Starting the new week, Monday will be a day to watch for heavy rainfall. The humidity will be in the upper 60s. It will increase our moisture content, producing rounds of showers and a few thunderstorms. The main concern to watch for is high winds and small hail. If we see the rain starting early in the morning, that would reduce the severe weather in the afternoon.

Once the rain is out, we are dry for the middle of the week, with highs in the 60s and low 70s. Lows will be in the 40s and 50s. That dry stretch will be traded for another system on Thursday. This will be a good soaking rain to help ease the drought for the following weeks’ update (Thursday, May 21st). We will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
