Man shot to death by truck owner after hitting several parked cars in neighborhood

PHOENIX (KPHO/Gray News) — A man is dead after police say he hit parked cars with his truck and then was shot by one of the owners.

According to authorities, Bruce Roanhorse, 43, struck several parked cars and property in a north Phoenix neighborhood just after 4 a.m. Saturday.

Police said a nearby homeowner and his adult son went outside to see the commotion, and then the son went into his parked truck.

Roanhorse put his truck in reverse and tried to hit the other truck with the son inside, officers said. That’s when the son shot and killed Roanhorse.

The shooter was questioned and later arrested for an outstanding felony warrant. Police did not immediately identify him.

Authorities said the shooting remains under investigation, along with whether the shooter would be facing any charges.
