(Gray News) — Chili’s is taking a stab at Ruth’s Chris Steak House over its dress code policy.

“The only dress code at Chili’s is that you have to be dressed,” Chili’s said on X.

The post was in response to a new notice made earlier this month on the Ruth’s Chris website regarding dress code:

“BUSINESS CASUAL – PROPER ATTIRE REQUIRED PLEASE.

Kindly remove all hats when entering the restaurant. Guests wearing ball caps are asked to dine in the bar/lounge.

The following attire is not permitted in our dining rooms:

Gym wear, pool attire, tank tops, clothing with offensive graphics or language, revealing clothing or exposed undergarments.”

The dress code sparked mixed reactions online. While some were upset about the dress code, others noted that it is nice to dress up for a special meal.

After Chili’s response, many fans praised the casual chain.

“I’d rather go to Chili’s,” one person commented on X.
