Pepsi Spotlight: Ayden-Grifton’s Slater Persinger

AYDEN, N.C. (WITN) - The owner of a 0.41 ERA, Slater Persinger can do it all.

Currently ranked 18th in the State of North Carolina with 37 strikeouts, the Ayden-Grifton star pitcher is 4-0 in his Senior season on an undefeated Chargers team.

Working a three-pitch arsenal (fastball, change-up, slider), he has reached 90 MPH before, and usually throws in the mid-to-high-80s in games.

At 6′8, he is one of the tallest baseball players you’ll find in the area, which helps him create velocity on the mound and extend the length of his release.

Recently committing to Pitt Community College on Monday, he’ll be playing his college ball locally, which allows his friends and family to continue their attendance at all his games.
