Student facing charges after other student maced at La Grange middle school

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A middle school student was maced by another student this morning at a Lenoir County middle school, according to the sheriff.

Sheriff Jackie Rogers says it happened at E.B. Frink Middle School in La Grange.

The sheriff says the student will be charged with assault through a juvenile petition.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating with the student had mace at the school.

A school spokesperson confirmed that mace is not allowed on any Lenoir County Public Schools campus.

They added that students go through metal detectors when entering the E.B. Frink Middle School building.
