Pepsi Spotlight: North Pitt’s Zihanna Lightfoot
BETHEL, N.C. (WITN) - Few high school basketball players can claim to belong to as many clubs as Zihanna Lightfoot.
A 4-year starter. A State Champion. A 1,000-point scorer. She’s done almost everything a forward can do, and with 28 more boards, she’ll also be in the 1,000-Rebounds Club.
Now a Senior, she’s a leader on the current (10-6) Panthers team. Two years ago, she far less experience as a Sophomore, but still started on the 2023-24 North Pitt team that won it all.
“That was a ride to be on,” Lightfoot recalled, “Two of my teammates, one [Zamareya Jones] doing it big at NC State, and the other [Jordan Speller] in Florida [Montverde Academy, Class of 2027] doing it big there, my other teammates are good, I’m good, it was just a ride to be on.”
As for colleges, she hasn’t committed anywhere yet, but is close to doing so. As for this season, four games remain in the regular season for North Pitt before the playoffs start.
