Pepsi Spotlight: KD Collins & Justin Bridgers

PINETOPS, N.C. (WITN) - After growing up through the game together, siblings KD Collins and Justin Bridgers made history at Southwest Edgecombe just 15 days apart this winter.

On December 26th, Collins hit the 1,000-point mark on her career with her older brother cheering at max volume, and then approximately two weeks later, he did the same on January 10th with the roles reversed.

“When I hit it he was screaming, like he was the loudest one when I hit it, and then for him to hit it [2] weeks later was kinda crazy,” Collins recalled.

“As a basketball player, everybody dreams of getting to achieve that 1,000 point goal,” Bridgers said, “and to be able to do it with my little sister is just truly a blessing.”

At 12-2 (girls) and 10-4 (boys), the Southwest Edgecombe basketball teams have benefited greatly from the siblings, as they look to continue their careers on the college level once they graduate high school.
