Pepsi Spotlight: Green Central Lady Rams Flag Football
SNOW HILL, N.C. (WITN) - Joining some other local high schools, Greene Central just finished up its first-ever season in girls’ flag football.
The new development was one players have been waiting for now for years, as the Rams Varsity (Tackle) Football Coach, Jay Wilson made it happen this year.
“When my athletic director came and said they had this program last year we weren’t a part of it, and then he was like let’s get a team together,” Wilson said.
“We’ve been wanting to play and we finally got it this year,” Junior Janiyah Sutton said.
“I mean I always wanted our school to have a flag football program and I’m glad they brought it out for my senior year and we all get to come together and play as a team,” Senior An’Nysha Wooten said.
“This is something we have been begging for really. We have powder puffs and stuff like that, but ya know, it’s powderpuff it’s a lot different than this,” Senior Chelsea Bishop said.
