More than 14 pounds of crystal meth seized in Beaufort County drug raid
BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies say a search of a home in Beaufort County led to the arrests of four men on drug and gun charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says a home on Old Saw Mill Road near Blounts Creek was searched as a part of a month-long investigation into the distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine in the county.
Deputies say the search found 14-1/2 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, along with fentanyl, marijuana, $3,353, and multiple guns.
Also seized was a stolen ATV.
Dennis Clemons of Brooklyn, NY was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and felony conspiracy. The 48-year-old was jailed on a $1,000,000 cash-only bond.
Alan Doyle of Blounts Creek was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking in fentanyl, felony conspiracy, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep/sell controlled substances, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The 46-year-old is being held on a $1,000,000 secured bond.
53-year-old Rodney Townsend was charged with felony possession of fentanyl. The New Bern man was given a $250,000 secured bond.
Matthew Gibble, also of New Bern, was charged with felony possession of fentanyl. The 42-year-old was also given a $250,000 secured bond.
