Tyrrell Co. teenager charged in father's murder
A teenager is charged with murder in the shooting death of his father.
The Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office charged Bryce Rose, 17, with an open count of murder.
Investigators were dispatched to a shooting in the Gum Neck community on Thursday, May 30 where they found 42-year-old Hank Rose Jr., of Columbia had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An obituary identifies Bryce Rose as the victim's son.
The sheriff's office says Bryce Rose was taken into custody without incident and he is currently being held without bond.
Rose is scheduled for court on June 13th.
The family held funeral services for Hank Rose Jr. earlier this week.
An obituary says he was a 'real craftsman' and a certified crane operator associated with the family business, Rose Welding and Crane Service.
Rose Jr. also served as a deacon in the Gum Neck Church of Christ.
