GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A Greenville man is behind bars after court documents say he allegedly kidnapped someone and threatened to kill her.
According to a magistrate’s order, David Garrett Jr. was arrested by Greenville police and charged with the following:
- Second-degree kidnapping
- Assault on a female
- Crime of domestic violence
- Communicating threats
The court documents say Garrett hit the victim in the head and stomach and threatened to harm her with a kitchen knife. The magistrate’s order also states he threatened her, saying he would kill her if she tried to leave.
Garrett was dating the victim, who documents say is at least 16 years old, when this happened Monday.
The 22-year-old was not authorized for a bond and will appear in court next Wednesday, September 30.
