BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office is reminding senior residents of their ‘Are You Ok?’ program as high temperatures rise in the east.
Officials say the program includes free daily check-in calls for senior residents who are 65-years-old or older and living alone.
The free daily check-in calls will confirm if residents are safe and if they are in need of assistance, according to officials.
Officials add that if there is no response, deputies will be immediately dispatched to conduct a well-being check.
Information to sign up can be found by calling 252-794-5330.
