Woman charged with murder in February Halifax County deadly shooting
HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A woman has been charged with murder in the February shooting death of a man in Halifax County.
26-year-old Latina Moore is accused of killing Cormani Burnett, who was found dead in his work truck on February 23rd.
Deputies say they went to a shots-fired call on Highway 48 at Rhea Smith Road. Burnett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives got warrants against Moore for first-degree murder on May 8th, and deputies say she was arrested on May 10th around 8 p.m.
The Roanoke Rapids woman was taken to the Halifax County Jail under no bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court on May 27th.
