Gov. Stein announces 20 upcoming jobs in Lenoir County
LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Gov. Josh Stein announced today that a Canadian manufacturer will open its first U.S. headquarters in Kinston, creating 20 new jobs in Lenoir County.
Cardon Rehabilitation & Medical Equipment makes therapy equipment and tables used in clinical and rehabilitation settings.
The Ontario-based company will invest over $4 million into building a 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on Berkley Avenue.
“North Carolina continues to be a top choice for companies that value innovation, talent, and opportunity,” said Gov. Stein. “Cardon’s investment in Lenoir County is a win for our state’s manufacturing sector and a testament to the strengths of our communities and workforce.”
According to a news release, the annual average salary is estimated to be $48,965, in line with Lenoir County’s average wage of $48,683.
Cardon said it decided on Kinston after considering Texas and Virginia. It wishes to bring its products closer to its primary market in the United States.
“We welcome Cardon Rehabilitation & Medical Equipment to Kinston and look forward to the opportunities this investment will bring,” said N.C. Rep. Chris Humphrey. “These new jobs are signs of Lenoir County’s continued progress and potential.”
