Suspect arrested in Bethel shooting that injured one

BETHEL, N.C. (WITN) - A suspect has been arrested in a shooting that left one injured in Bethel on Friday.
50-year-old Bernard Jones was arrested by Pitt County deputies yesterday.
A 44-year-old man was shot multiple times on Crawford Street around 12:40 a.m. Friday.
Deputies say they found probable cause to get warrants to arrest Jones.
A search warrant was also performed at Jones’ home in Bethel.
Jones has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
He was taken to the Pitt County Jail without bond.
Jones will have his first court appearance today.
Detectives say their investigation is ongoing.
