Man dies days after being shot in Onslow County

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies in Onslow County are asking for the public’s help, a week after a man was shot in the head and later died.

Steven Sanderford was found shot last Tuesday on Ruddy Court in the South Creek subdivision.

The 39-year-old man was first taken to Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune and then transferred to ECU Health Medical Center, where he died on Friday.

Deputies say they have a person of interest in the case, but are asking anyone with information on the shooting death to contact them.
