Search for missing autistic teen shifts to recovery effort

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - Kinston police say a search and rescue for a missing autistic teenager has shifted into a recovery effort.

Police have been searching for 16-year-old Jaylen Green since Saturday.

As the multi-agency search continued overnight, they found points of interest within the Neuse River.

Police say Green walked away from the Neuseway Nature Park at 401 West Caswell Street Saturday night and was seen on camera entering the water nearby.

Kinston police say four sheriff’s offices, five fire departments, and several other agencies from across the east and state are helping in the efforts.

Police ask the public to keep Green and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
