LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) – A son has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Trump International Hotels after his 78-year-old mother died from injuries she sustained in a revolving door.

The lawsuit was filed last weekend in Clark County District Court on behalf of Diana Truschke by her surviving son, John.

The lawsuit says on March 21, 2023, Truschke was visiting the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas when she was critically injured.

As she entered the revolving door, the door sped up as it rotated and struck her from behind, throwing her several feet forward onto her face, the lawsuit said.

Truschke was rushed to the hospital and received extensive medical treatment. However, she later died from her injuries on Oct. 14, 2024, at 78 years old.

The lawsuit accuses the hotel of failing to maintain the revolving doors to comply with safety codes, or at least notifying guests and staff of the risk of injury when using the doors.

According to court records, a hearing has yet to be scheduled.
