LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Some more details are coming out about the weekend murder of an Eastern Carolina man.

Quinton Gray was found dead at a mobile home on Sweet Amy Lane, southwest of Kinston just after midnight on Sunday.

Lenoir County deputies say the 30-year-old man had been shot multiple times.

A woman, who deputies say was Gray’s girlfriend, called 911 and told authorities that someone broke into her home and shot Gray.

911: “You said he was shot. Is he breathing?”

Caller: “No, I don’t think so.”

911: “Alright, when did this happen?”

Caller: “About 5 minutes ago.”

911: “And how many are injured? Is it just him?”

Caller: “Yes, it is just him.”

911: “Alright, and how many suspects were involved?”

Caller: “I don’t know sir, I was (redacted) in my bed and heard gunshots and put them under the bed.”

911: “And where is that suspect at now, do you know?”

Caller: “No sir.”

A child could be heard crying in the background on the 911 call and neighbors told WITN that Gray was the father of two young boys.

Deputies confirm that two small children, along with the girlfriend, were inside the home when the shooting happened.

The woman told 911 that she didn’t know where Gray was shot as he was lying on his stomach.

Deputies have yet to release any information on a suspect in the murder or a possible motive.
